About

Born and raised in Louisiana, I’m a thirty-something former Capitol Hill staffer and a six year resident of our nation’s capitol.  In between studying at LSU and UGA, and working for members of Congress, campaigns and non-profits, I’ve passionately enjoyed traveling – loading up my car for the weekend and driving as far as I could.  I love American history in particularly, and long ago set out to visit every National Park (with my national park passport in tow) every National Historic Landmark, every presidential site (graves, homes, etc.) every state capitol (not to mention every state) and every MLB Stadium.

I’ve covered a lot of ground, and still have a lot more to see and do.  Luckily, I have @kara_beth3, who is just as passionate about history and travel as me, to help plan and join me on our adventures across the country.  You can follow her on twitter, as well as her blog and Instagram (travel and fashion).

I hope to share some insight into the places we visit and give our own mildly humorous observations on the litany of sites that define the fabric of America, and pass on our love of the history, cultures and views we experience along the way.

Feel free to contact me if you have any travel ideas, suggestions, comments or questions!
